The Franklin Institute

Arts & Theater The Franklin Institute: Fun & Interactive Science Museum

No doubt about it: Ben Franklin would have loved to explore the hands-on science museum that bears his name and celebrates his spirit with exhibits as innovative and eclectic as "the first American" himself. Cool immersive experiences abound with three full floors of galleries, live demonstrations, planetarium shows, the Bloom Observatory and exciting traveling exhibits. Take a turn as the engineer for a working 350-ton locomotive at the authentic train factory, explore the giant walk-through heart, try to avoid the "bowling ball of doom" at Sir Isaac's Loft and much, much more, as you learn about engineering, aeronautics, physics, geology and, of course, Franklin's fave -- electricity. And new this year is the 3,600-square-foot permanent exhibit dedicated to the precision and science of sport, SportsZone, where you can challenge a famous virtual competitor to a race and jump into 20 other interactive experiences.
